Mom's shocking photo spreading awareness about car seat safety
LANCASTER, Pa. - A Pennsylvania mom's photo about car seat safety is spreading awareness about car seat safety.
Jenna Rabberman snapped a photo after her 2015 Honda CRV was involved in a crash. Rabberman's baby and toddler were inside the vehicle at the time. While the CRV was mangled in the crash, Rabberman's kids made it out without a scratch.
After the crash, Rabberman took to Facebook, posting a picture of her kids' car seats. In the post, Rabberman said she doesn't normally post personal or "heavy" things on the social media platform, but says she was almost home when the crash happened. "You never think it will happen to you. My boys escaped without a scratch but the paramedics told me it could have been very different had I not taken the extra 2 minutes to be sure they were buckled correctly."
Rabberman's post has since been shared more than 260,000 times. The mom of two says she thinks the photo has gone viral because it's so shocking, "it doesn't seem real, it doesn't look like those seats came out of that car, but they did." Rabberman said, "It's very easy to get caught up in 'we've got to go, we've got to go' but take a moment, slow down, everything else can be replaced -- the seats, the car, everything. My kids? No way."
The car seat brands, in case you're wondering, as Chicco Keyfit-30 and Graco 4-Ever.
