Wright-Patt lights up for the holidays with Santa and reindeer
WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Wright-Patterson Airforce Base started the holidays off with a bang on Wednesday at their annual tree lighting ceremony.
The ceremony took place outside the Wright-Patterson club on base, where Santa rode in on a horse drawn sleigh and greeted dozens of kids with a group hug.
Minutes later, the kids were counting down to light the tree.
Visitors also got to spend some time with the two reindeer who attended the tree lighting.
Captain Keith Hudson of the U.S. Air Force came to the ceremony with his wife and kids.
“Yeah we’re away from home right now but these fun activities make it seem like home’s here,” said Cpt. Hudson, “and so we’re going to spend some time together as a family and get to relax and then enjoy all that the season has to offer.”
This is Cpt. Hudson’s second year attending WPAFB’s tree lighting ceremony, and his son Oliver told FOX 45 that he hopes Santa will bring him toy robots and “Cars 3” for Christmas.
