KETTERING, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – Dash cam footage just released Wednesday shows flames shooting out of a Kettering home after an explosion that left one woman dead.

Crews responded to the explosion on North Claridge Drive Tuesday morning, and said they found 58-year-old Darlene Baumgarder had been thrown into her neighbor’s yard by the explosion. She was transported to the hospital, but did not survive her injuries.

Firefighters said the explosion left debris in neighboring yards and reduced the home to rubble.

The exact cause of the blast is still under investigation, but Kettering Fire Chief Tom Butts said it appeared to be a natural gas explosion.
