ODOT planning March 15 meeting after Spring Valley fatal crash
SPRING VALLEY, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Months after a deadly crash in Spring Valley, ODOT is looking into what can be done to improve safety.
Brook Fudge and Sherill Cruea died in October, when their motorcycle collided with another driver at U.S. 42 and West Spring Valley-Paintersville Road. After the community rallied to find a fix for the deadly intersection, ODOT announced funding for the project, and now set a date for an open house.
"We'll try to implement the solution we think will work the best that fits with the public," said ODOT District 8 PIO Brian Cunningham. "We'll continue to monitor to see if we get the results that we think will occur."
According to ODOT, an open house public involvement meeting will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Spring Valley Township Fire Department located at 2547 U.S. 42, Spring Valley, Ohio, 45370. There will be three intersection improvement alternatives to look at and review.
ODOT will have representatives available to discuss the alternatives, the potential environmental impacts, and address any questions and concerns. Questions may be directed to the Environmental Project Manager, Anthony Pankala, E.I.T. of ODOT by phone: (513) 933-6640 or e-mail: Anthony.Pankala@dot.ohio.gov.
