Franklin Police pull bank robbery suspect out of the Great Miami
FRANKLIN, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Franklin Police had to call for a boat rescue after a bank robbery suspect jumped into the Great Miami Friday afternoon.
Franklin Lt. Gerry Massey said an armed robbery called was called out at the Huntington Bank on South Main Street right around the time of shift change.
Witnesses were able to point the crews in the direction the suspect reportedly ran, and a K9 helped lead them to the Great Miami River.
The suspect then reportedly jumped into the river, and so crews had to call out their water rescue unit in order to get him out safely.
Lt. Massey said it was important to get the suspect out of the river alive and make sure he was safely taken into custody.
They are currently searching for the money taken in the robbery. No one was seriously hurt in the search.
