Exclusive: Homeowner speaks out after AT&T robbery suspect found in his shed
HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WRGT/WKEF) – Seven armed suspects burst into a Huber Heights AT&T Store on Thursday. After they fled, at least one of the suspects was found in a shed behind a home in Huber Heights.
“It was almost like watching an episode of Chicago PD,” Christopher Grover Runyon said of the police scene around his house.
His fiancé Lindsey Jordan was sleeping that day, but a call from Christopher woke her up.
“Lock the doors and windows,” Christopher told her, “Something is going on, I don't know what it is.”
His mother saw two boys sprinting across a nearby street.
She told Lindsey, “You could tell they were running from somebody or something.”
The suspect was hiding in their shed. Christopher said he didn’t see a weapon on the teen, as officers pulled him from the shed. He still can’t figure out how he got in the back yard. The area is surrounded by a six-foot privacy fence. Law enforcement had to break part of the fence just to get in and get the suspect.
“[I was] freaking out. My heart started racing. I was like What's going on?” Lindsey said.
For the couple, their family’s safety was the most important thing on their mind. The two have six girls.
“Everybody says it never happens to you, and then it happens to us,” Lindsey said.
“I don't know how it would have went if I would have found him,” Christopher said.
Luckily he didn't have to because police put the suspect behind bars.
