Crime Stoppers board increases reward amount
DAYTON (WRGT) -- The Miami Valley Crime Stoppers is raising its maximum reward for the first time in its history.
Previously, the reward was $1,000. Beginning Aug. 4, the maximum increase 125 percent to $2,500 for any information that leads to an arrest.
“Something like this is past due for our economy. A thousand dollars today isn’t necessarily the same as a thousand dollars then when the Crime Stoppers program began in 1984," Crime Stoppers Board President Jim Newby said. "The board certainly feels that we are a time where we can increase payouts.”
Anyone with information regarding any crime is strongly encouraged to contact Miami Valley Crime Stoppers at 937-222-STOP (937-222-7867), tips may be also submitted online at miamivalleycrimestoppers.com, or through the downloadable p3tips app. Those providing tips can always remain anonymous.
