CJ's climb from 2-8 to the Elite Eight
DAYTON -- In 2015 Chaminade Julienne featured a roster filled with freshmen and sophomores and not only played but started at numerous key positions. Not surprisingly the Eagles were 2-8 that season.
Just a year later CJ went 6-4 but with many entering their third season as starters the bar was raised for the now experienced Eagles.
CJ's schedule was still prohibitive, a season opener at powerhouse Marion Local and a week two contest against Division I Miamisburg.
Once again it might have been easy to discount the Eagles after an 0-2 start. CJ though won seven straight and made the playoffs. The Eagles are now 9-3 with wins over Alter and New Richmond in the postseason to earn a spot in the regional final.
CJ talks about the two year transformation that has the team one win away from the program's first final four appearance since 2002 with the Eagles won the state championship.
