Alter's Bazelak '100 percent committed to Missouri'
KETTERING, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) -- Alter quarterback Connor Bazelak says he's "100 percent committed to Missouri".
The rising senior made his announcement on Twitter Sunday night. He chose Missouri over Duke and UNC.
"It felt good in my heart, felt right, felt comfortable," Bazelak said. "I just kind of went with my gut."
Bazelak is the top-rated quarterback prospect for the Class of 2019 in Ohio. He had 25 Division I offers when he committed.
"It was a little stressful the last two weeks. I think it should be for everyone because you're making one of the biggest decisions of your life."
The Alter quarterback is coming off his first year as a full-time starter. He called the coaches at Missouri Sunday afternoon.
"They were fired up. I was kind of their top guy and who they were really going for."
That was apparent on Twitter, when the Mizzou football account tweeted a GIF of its coach fist pumping on the sideline one minute after Bazelak published his tweet.
Bazelak says he's excited to compete for the starting job as a true freshman. He knows he'll likely continue to get interest from other schools over the next several months before he can sign a Letter of Intent to make it official.
"I can't really control who contacts me and what coaches contact me, but I'm firmly, 100 percent committed to Missouri."
