Wright State University closes down due to snow

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Winter weather is forcing Wright State University to close its doors today.

The university announced it was closing down today, Tuesday, February 7, around 9:45 a.m.

All university offices and libraries are closed and are expected to open up to normal hours on Thursday, February 8. It's one of hundreds of schools, organizations and churches that have closed or delayed today due to winter weather. The weather conditions also prompted Wright-Patterson Air Force Base to close down, allowing only base essential personnel to report to work.

Several counties declared snow emergencies due to the weather. In Montgomery County, a Level 1 Snow Emergency was declared just after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday and then lifted around 2:00 p.m.. Preble and Logan Counties are also under a Level 1 Advisory, meaning roads are hazardous and snow covered. In Clinton County, a Level 2 Advisory was issued.
