Woman thrown from vehicle in Darke Co. deadly crash identified
DARKE COUNTY, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - A woman who was thrown from her car Thursday morning after crashing in Darke County has died.
The crash happened around 6:25 a.m. at the intersection of STate Route 118 and Children's Home Bradford Road. The woman who died has been identified as Melanie Morrow, 42, of Union City, Indiana.
Investigators say the other driver involved in the crash, Klinton Knapke, 29, of Fort Recovery, was headed eastbound on Children's Home Bradford Road and did not stop at the stop sign for State Route 118. Knapke's car collided with Morrow's Trailblazer, throwing her from the vehicle. Morrow was not wearing a seat belt, investigators say, and died at the scene.
Knapke was uninjured in the crash. This is the fourth deadly crash in Darke County this year.
The crash remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
