ODOT worker hailed a hero after saving driver trapped in high water (WKEF/WRGT)

SUGARCREEK TWP, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - An ODOT worker is being hailed a hero after helping save a man who rolled his vehicle and became trapped in floodwater.

The crash happened late Thursday evening in Sugarcreek Township on Lower Bellbrook Road.

A photographer from ABC22/FOX45 was on the scene getting video of high water when the crash happened. A captain from Sugarcreek Township Fire Deparmtent said the road had been blocked off due to high water in the area from excessive rain. An ODOT worker was out checking the road when his vehicle was struck by another driver.

The other vehicle rolled and went into high water upside down.

The ODOT worker rushed out of his vehicle and busted out the window to help the trapped driver. Both were taken to local hospitals to be treated, they're expected to be okay.
