Short documentary uses FOA as model for addiction recovery support
MIAMI VALLEY, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – A documentary telling the story of the group “Families of Addicts” premiered Wednesday night.
Titled “Resurgence of Community”, the documentary uses FOA as a model for recovery support for families, friends and individuals, and also shows the impact recovery groups can have on communities.
FOA was founded by Lori Erion several years ago, and has continued to work to reduce the stigma of addition and to ensure the availability of treatment.
The project was a collaboration by DEA 360 Dayton, KeyVision and FOA.
The DEA and Wright State University have also teamed up to put on a panel at the Nutter Center Monday to spotlight the dangers of opioids. FOX 45's Adam Aaro will emcee the event, former American Idol Star and WSU grad Alexis Gomez will be there to perform, and several speakers will touch on all side of the epidemic.
FOX 45 is a proud media sponsor of DEA 360.
