DPD: Two people in serious condition after shooting; 1 year old in car not injured

Shooting reported in Harrison Township; police investigating if incident began in Dayton (WKEF/WRGT)

HARRISON TWP, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Dayton Police said they're investigating a case where two people were shot because they believe it happened in Dayton, even though the scene is on Evansville Avenue in Harrison Township.

According to Lt. Steven Bauer, 3 people were involved in an altercation, during which a 20-year-old female and 25-year-old male were shot. They were both transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, but those conditions have been updated to serious. A 44-year-old was also involved in the incident, but the exact role was not specified.

A 1-year-old child was in the back seat of the car at the time of the shooting, but that child was not injured and was removed from the scene by family members.

Lt. Bauer said they're still working on piecing the evidence together, but they do believe the incident began on Necco Avenue in Dayton. He said it's too early to determine who may be facing charges, but homicide detectives were called to help investigate the scene due to the complexity of the case.
