Second Street Market kicks off the summer with extended hours
DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Your favorite one-stop-shop is kicking off its summer season with extended hours.
From now until December, Second Street Market will be open every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The market announced this permanent change after a successful trial run last summer. Sundays were the busiest days for the market and drew, on average, more than 1,000 visitors.
“There’s a big connection from the customers and vendors,” said market manager Jimmy Harless. “And the market represents a meeting place for folks so we’re really excited that happens because that doesn’t happen much in today’s world.”
Saturday is the grand opening of the outdoor farmers market, but the party starts on Friday at 5:00 p.m. for First Friday. There will be live music, more than 40 vendors, and Festival Fresh kettle corn made on site.
