Police: Springfield mom lets 2-yr-old steer car while she took video for Facebook
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - A Springfield woman's been charged with Child Endangering after police say she let her 2-year-old son sit on her lap and steer her car, while she took a video of it for Facebook.
According to a police report, officers contacted Brianna L. Jones, 24, about the video on May 14. The report states that the officer called Jones to tell her a complaint had been filed since her son was not in a car seat. The officer said Jones told her the car was not moving, however, the officer told her she'd seen the video and knew the car was moving.
Jones was supposed to meet with police on May 16, however, officers say she never showed up.
On May 21, officers caught up with Jones at the Clark County Child Advocacy Center where the police report says she was meeting with a worker there about other parenting concerns that had been filed. Police say while meeting with Jones, she admitted to the incident.
Jones faces one count of Child Endangering, which is a first-degree misdemeanor with a penalty of either 6 months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.
