Park Layne Sunoco offers special gas price on 1 year anniversary of tornado
PARK LAYNE, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - It's been one year since Park Layne was rocked by an EF-1 tornado.
The twister did a lot of damage in town, forcing many businesses to close down for weeks, or close for good. One of the hardest hit by the storm was the Sunoco.
Sunoco just recently opened back up after the tornado forced the building to be condemned. The roof was ripped off, the station's sign destroyed and cinder blocks separated. Dave Closey has owned the station for almost 40 years and told FOX45 the night of the storm, the last employee left the station left just a few minutes before it hit.
To mark the anniversary of the storm, Closey decided to offer a special price of gas for the day. The station is offering gas for $2.39 a gallon until 8:00 tonight. The special price is $2.39 because that was how much it was a year ago today.
