DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - As a winter storm moves into the Miami Valley, ODOT crews are out working to keep the roads safe.

According to a spokeswoman for ODOT's District 7, which serves the Miami Valley, 107 crews are out across nine counties clearing roads and monitoring conditions. ODOT reports that northern counties are seeing the majority of ice and snow, southern counties are currently seeing rain.

Crews are mainly focusing first on bridges, ramps and overpasses, which freeze first. Dozens of organizations and schools have either closed for the day or are letting students go home early due to the storm.
