UPDATE: Police say 19-year-old son shoots father in self-defense

UPDATE: Monroe Police said their investigation has led them to believe that 19-year-old Colin Bailey acted in self-defense.

They said there aren't act charges pending against Bailey and that he is not in custody.

The department will continue to investigate the case and the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

MONROE, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Monroe Police are investigating after they said a 19-year-old shot and killed his father.

Crews responded to the domestic disturbance on Teil Tree Court just after midnight Saturday to find that 46-year-old Christopher Bailey had been shot once by his son, Colin Bailey, according to a media release.

Christopher was then taken to Atrium Medical Center, where he later died from his injures.

Monroe Police are continuing to look into the incident. Once they've completed their investigation, the information will be presented to the Butler County Prosecutor's Office to see if any charges are applicable.
