UPDATE: Victim in Greene County fatal crash identified

UPDATE: The name of a man who died Monday morning in a Xenia Township crash has been identified as John Glatfelter Jr., 46, of Springfield.

While the cause of the crash remains under investigation, troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol say alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been a factor. According to OSP, Glatfelter Jr. was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

XENIA, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Investigators with the Ohio State Highway Patrol say they believe a man who died in a crash this morning on U.S. 68, died of a medical condition.

The crash happened on U.S. 68 at the 235 intersection, just north of Xenia.

According to Sgt. Paul Lezotte of the Xenia post of OSP, it's believed that the driver had some sort of medical condition, which caused him to crash. Sgt. Lezotte said the driver went off the road, then drifted back on, hit a fence then hit a building and cement barrier. Lezottte said there's no sign of the driver hitting the brakes.

The victim's name isn't being released right now until his family is notified. Sgt. Lezotte said he is a white male in his 40's from the Springfield area.

This is the fifth fatal crash in Greene County this year.
