Kasich joining CNN as regular contributor

    (WKEF/WRGT) - A day after Ohio's new governor was sworn into office, the state's former governor, John Kasich, announced what's next for him.

    Kasich tweeted Tuesday morning that he's joining CNN to be a regular contributor, saying he's "excited" about the opportunity.

    CNN announced that Kasich would appear as a guest across several of the network's programs. The Republican, who has been outspoken against the current administration, will make his first appearance on "Cuomo Prime Time" on Tuesday night.

    Kasich has been one of the most prominent critics of President Trump. He has not yet given a definite answer on if he will run for president again in 2020.

    It was announced Monday that Kasich had signed with United Talent Agency (UTA) to navigated the next step in his career.
