Icy road conditions leads to dozens of crashes across the Miami Valley
(WKEF/WRGT) - It was a treacherous commute for drivers across the Miami Valley as icy conditions caused dozens of crashes.
Weather not only slowed down the commute, it prompted many schools to delay classes. Dayton Public Schools decided to cancel classes for the day.
One crash along Edwin C. Moses left one car turned around and off the road with its back end up in the air.
Conditions on the highway were very slick as crashes continued to shut down lanes. One crash involving two semis in the southbound lanes of I-75 in Tipp City left a passenger in one of the semis dead. The Ohio State Highway Patrol says weather is believed to have played a role in the crash.
Hazardous road conditions continued throughout the morning along I-75 and I-675.
