DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – Germanfest officially took over Riverscape Friday night, moving to the downtown location for the first time in the 34 years it’s been going on.

Some of the highlights of the festival include German food, German beer and music.

Festival chairman John Koerner told FOX 45 the event is family friendly, but has something to offer for everyone.

“We’re looking for some big crowds to come down here and taste all things German,” he said. “Some incredible different food and desserts, and we have German imports. We have a great selection of craft vendors.”

Germanfest used to be put on at Carillon Park, but it decided not to renew its contract. Organizers said they decided on Riverscape because of the downtown location and beautiful scenery.

The festival runs all through the weekend.
