First Grace of Dayton Freedom Celebration honors military and public service officials
DAYTON, Ohio (WRGT/WKEF)- The First Grace of Dayton hosted their 30th Annual Freedom Celebration Sunday to honor military and public service officials who have served our country.
Pastor of First Grace Church Bruce Jackson said the freedom celebration is about honoring those who have sacrificed so we can all be free.
“It’s a time when we honor our military, we honor those who’ve served and sacrificed. We have honored many uniform police, elected officials, many people who served every day of the week. It’s just a wonderful time to remember those people and thank God for them.” said Jackson
Montgomery County Sheriff Phil Plummer attended the celebration, in addition to many other officials Sunday morning.
Pastor Jackson said that the celebration helps to bridge the gap between religion and politics.
“It’s really good for our nation and for our churches and people of faith to come together with those who are making really important decisions for all us.” said Jackson.
