BATH TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Investigators say speed played a role in a crash that claimed a driver's life early Tuesday morning.

According to the Xenia post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after 6:15 Tuesday morning in the area of Fishburg and Bath roads. OSP says the driver, David L. Spencer, 53, of Huber Heights, was heading eastbound, when he got to a curve in the road, investigators say he "failed to negotiate" it and slammed into a tree.
