FRANKLIN Twp., Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - A puppy is safe thanks to a rescue team in Franklin. The dog broke through the ice of a frozen over pond Wednesday morning just after 10 a.m.

Franklin Fire and EMS were called to the scene on Beal Road in Franklin Township to rescue the pup named Maggie.

Thanks to firefighter and EMT Kyle Keeler and firefighter and medic Blake Olson, Maggie was pulled from the frigid water to safety.

The City of Franklin shared the story on its Facebook page, thanking rescue workers for their efforts. We're told Maggie lives a few doors down from the pond.
