Two taken by ambulance after reported dog attack in West Carrollton

Dog attack reported in West Carrollton neighborhood (WKEF/WRGT)

WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - A neighbor says she's fearful after a dog that attacked two people in a West Carrollton neighborhood was not taken away by authorities.

The attack happened Thursday morning in the 500 block of Richie Drive. The neighbor, who did not want to be identified, said the two victims are the parents of the man who lives inside the home. She says the couple comes over every day and visits and are in contact with the animals every day.

According to the neighbor, the man who owns the dog houses rescue animals. The neighbor says the dogs are on the fence and act 'vicious', "they act like they're going to tear the fence down to get out," she said.

The extent of the victims' injuries is not clear, but they were both taken away by ambulance. They both appeared conscious and talking at the time.

The neighbor we talked with said she takes care of her grandson regularly, who is just one and-a-half years old, she said after today, "I will be much more careful now." While she said she's afraid the dogs will come over the fence, she said she knows their owner and said he is a nice man, "he has a passion for helping them, I'm sure he didn't mean for that to happen, but they are rescue animals and they are mean."

The neighbor is now questioning why the dog was not removed.
