DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – Dayton Police Chief Richard Biehl was working to promote peace in downtown Dayton Thursday evening.

The chief participated in a free yoga and meditation event at Courthouse Square, hosted by the Dayton Heartfulness Institute, as part of the United Nation’s International Day of Peace. The Institute is a non-profit educational organization that promotes wellness, balance and inner peace.

The goal was to get people to put their differences aside and come together for a worldwide celebration of peace. Heartfulness offers free yoga, relaxation and meditation sessions across several locations, for an opportunity to relieve stress with a certified trainer. It's practiced throughout the United States and in more than 110 countries.

The Heartfulness Institute will be offering Continuing Medical Education credits for physicians, nurses & psychologists at the Beavercreek, OH Heartfulness Center located at 3153 Lantz Rd Beavercreek, OH 45432.
