Dayton NAACP accuses Greene Co. Commissioners of ousting former Xenia mayor from board

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - The Dayton Unit of the NAACP brought accusations against Greene County Commissioners Wednesday night.

President Derrick Foward led the news conference, saying that commissioners not re-appointing former Xenia Mayor Marsha Bayless to the Greene County Metropolitan Housing Board is a mistake.

She served on the board for more than 3 decades, and at a meeting earlier in January, commissioners voted to replace her with former county commissioner Alan Anderson.

"Our public plea to the county commissioners is to sit down with Ms. Bayless, have a conversation with her," Foward said. "You've already blindsided her. Just have a conversation with her and see where that conversation leads."

Forward said the Housing Board wanted Bayless to serve as Chair.
