DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - A Dayton man who was found guilty as charged in a 2016 fatal shooting is set to be sentenced next month.
Officials said 57-year-old William Sarver was talking to some friends in a vehicle on Riverview Avenue on June 6, 2016, when Deonte Snowden, 36, walked up and started yelling at him. Snowden then reportedly pulled out a gun and shot Sarver once in the stomach before running off. Witnesses called 911 and the 57 year old was taken to the hospital, but died as a result of his injuries.
Snowden was indicted on two counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, one count of bribery and one count of heaving weapons under disability, and he was arrested in October 2016 in Arizona before being extradited to Montgomery County. He is set to be sentenced on August 7.
