The legendary lights of Clifton Mill are in the national spotlight
On Monday the Greene county tradition beat out other displays from around the country on the ABC show "The Great Christmas Light Fight."
31 years ago Clifton Mill had about 100,000 lights. Today it boasts 4 million.
It's easy to see why it shines brighter than rest
All the holiday lights, from the synchronized lights show and covered bridge to the illuminated gorge and riverbank, take about 3 months to set up.
On Monday the display drew fans of all ages and was featured in the ABC show, which showcases the most spectacular Christmas light displays in America.
Clifton Mill came out victorious wining not just bragging rights but also $50,000.
Owner Anthony Satariano has an idea of how he'll spend it.
"Donate part of it of course, but knowing me, more lights,” said Satariano. “I have a very dedicated, handful of family and friends and employees, they just put everything into it and it just couldn't happen without them.”
Clifton Mill is getting all kinds of recognition this year.
The legendary lights of Clifton Mill are also in the running to win "Best Public Holiday Lights display" for USA Today.
