(WKEF/WRGT) - As the temperatures drop outside, homeowners are likely to rely on their furnaces to stay warm.
Now is the best time to check your furnace for any issues and do some preventive maintenance.
“It’s better to be proactive. We find that homeowners who get their furnaces checked are less likely to have severe breakdowns,” Logan A/C and Heat Services Bret Fuller said.
Not only are breakdowns costly, but they are also potentially dangerous to your health.
“Carbon Monoxide is a very serious situation, you don’t want anyone in your home to be exposed to that. We perform a combustion analysis on your furnace to alert you of any unsafe situations,”
Other issues with your furnace can cause it to completely stop working.
“One of the most common breakdowns is caused by a filter that needs cleaned,” Fuller said.
He recommends changing or replacing the filter once every month to avoid problems.
If you discover an issue with your furnace, Logan A/C and Heat Services recommends calling a professional as soon as possible.
