Arrive Safe offering free cab rides for St. Patrick's Day weekend
DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - St. Patrick's Day is this weekend and local authorities are reminding anyone who's celebrating to do so responsibly.
The Arrive Safe program is available once again this weekend to residents in Montgomery County. The program offers free cab rides home starting tomorrow night at 6:00 and continues through 6:00 a.m. Sunday, March 18. Since the program begin in 2007, more than 6,400 cab rides have been provided.
If you are a Montgomery County resident and plan to be out celebrating this weekend and have too much to drink, you can call 449-9999 and request a ride. Cab fares up to $50 will be covered. "If you're thinking to yourself, 'I wonder if I've had too much to drink'...that means you have," said Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck. "So don't get behind the wheel, it's so simple."
Authorities say there will be extra patrols out on the roads this weekend to account for more activity.
