Annual Heart Walk raises awareness about heart disease
DAYTON, Ohio (WRGT/WKEF)- The American Heart Association hosted there annual Heart Walk Saturday morning at Fifth Third Field.
For the last 25 years the 5k has been focused on finding the cure for heart disease and stroke.
X-Ray Tech at Grandview Medical Center in the Cardiac Cath Lab Tara Powell said the event raises awareness and gives tips to the community so they can live healthier lives.
“We have booths around teaching people about how they can live a healthier lifestyle, to live longer and happier lives.” said Powell.
FOX 45/ ABC 22 was a proud sponsor of the event with anchor Adam Aaro serving as the emcee.
Over 10,000 volunteers raised over $365,000 that will go towards life-saving research.
“Lots of people from the community, Kettering Health Network is a huge supporter of this event. Premier will be here, Dayton Freight is a supporter as well as Lexus Nexus.” said Powell.
