Husted: More than 440,000 absentee ballots requested
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - More than 440,000 Ohioans requested absentee ballots for today's election according to Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted.
Husted reports 449,445 have been requested and of those, 385,441 have been cast. Absentee ballots have to have been postmarked by November 6 and mailed in or returned to the board of elections by today, November 7, before the polls close. As long as an absentee ballot was postmarked by November 6, it can still be counted if it arrives at the board of elections within 10 days of Election Day.
In 2015, Husted reports that nearly 484,000 absentee ballots were requested and more than 383,000 had been cast.
