Bullying policies at schools across the Miami Valley

(WKEF/WRGT) - The state of Ohio requires districts to follow certain guidelines in regards to bullying. Any school that receives federal funding is bound by the law to address discrimination. According to the state's website, cyberbullying is included under those laws.

Here in the Miami Valley, school districts each have a policy on how the school deals with bullying. Beavercreek City Schools policy is laid out below:

In addition to its bullying policy, the Beavercreek district also has an anti-bullying program.

Springfield City Schools says it takes bullying and cyberbullying seriously. Its staff are trained in dealing with and spotting and dealing with bullying issues. It's policy is laid out here, students and parents also have access to a website that gives information on staying safe online. October is Cyber Safety Awareness month, and it's a time when school leaders highlight issues students may face online.
