U.S. Olympic Uniforms Made in China
COLUMBUS -- Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown and lawmakers from both sides of the aisle are upset that Team USA's Olympic uniforms are made in China.
Now Brown is demanding a change.
Ralph Lauren designed the outfits for the opening ceremonies. Brown wrote a letter to the Olympic committee giving them 10 days to get the uniforms remade in America.
"Just like American flags flying over government buildings should be made in the United States of America, the clothes these Olympians wear should be made in America," Brown said. "There's a Cleveland company -- several hundred workers that can make these blazers, make these clothes... they ought to be hired to do it."
Brown's opponent, Josh Mandel, also released a statement saying the U.S. Olympic team uniforms should be 100 percent American made.
