I grew up just outside of Pittsburgh, Pa., in a suburb called Monroeville.
A typical “yinzer” (as Pittsburghers call themselves), I’m a die-hard Steel City sports fan of the Pens, Pirates and Steelers.
I graduated from Howard University in Washington, DC, with a degree in broadcast news. During my time there, I interned at WPXI in my hometown of Pittsburgh, and also immersed myself in politics. As part of the ABC News Washington Bureau, I had the opportunity to cover Congress daily. I was also part of a team that reported on the ongoing 2013 government shutdown and the Navy Yard shooting.
After graduation, I left the East Coast for a job at WGEM in Quincy, Ill., where I was a multimedia journalist for two years. There, I got my feet wet and (hopefully!) worked out the newbie mistakes. Covering everything from agriculture to infrastructure, I reported on amazing stories across Missouri, Illinois and Iowa.
I decided to make the move to Dayton to be closer to family. I’m excited to explore the Miami Valley and discover everything it has to offer.
Locally, I cover several communities including Miami Twp., Miamisburg, Kettering and Moraine.
