Good morning, Dayton! I am excited to call the Miami Valley my new home and to give you all the weather info you’ll need to help you kick start your weekday mornings!
I was born and raised in Northwest Indiana, not too far from Chicago. I’m an Indiana University graduate, so during basketball season it is Hoosiers all the way! Football season, well, we don’t like to talk about football season as much.
I come to Dayton from ABC57 in South Bend, Ind. where I spent close to three years as the morning meteorologist. Prior to South Bend, I called Rockford, Ill. home as the morning meteorologist at WREX for two years. I used to consider myself a night owl, but a half decade of 2 a.m. wake up calls eventually shifts your lifestyle just a bit! But believe it or not, I’m still not a coffee drinker.
During my time in Rockford, I was privileged to be a part of a large assembly style school program called Project: Tornado, which I then launched in South Bend. Over the course of the past 5 years, I have helped teach more than 24,000 students about the dangers of severe weather and about how they and their families can be better prepared for the next big storm. I cannot wait to become a member of the community here in the Miami Valley, connecting with all of you is one of the best parts of this job!
Outside of weather, I am a die hard White Sox fan, which means that yes, I am very “anti-Cubs” for all you Reds fans. I have been a drummer for over 15 years and competed nationally in high school with our drum line. I’m also a foodie, but I am lactose intolerant, which makes that tricky at times!
If you want to know more or ever have any questions, reach out to me on social media, I would love to chat!
