Mechanicsburg knocks off Miami East 39-6


MECHANICSBURG -- Mechanicsburg defeated Miami East 39-6 Friday night in the first round playoff matchup.

In the win senior quarterback Kaleb Romero completed 5 of 10 passes for 87 yards and a touchdown while adding 245 yards rushing along with two more touchdowns.

Dustin Knapp added 155 yards and a score on the ground as well.

Romero has now become the all-time leader in rushing at Mechanicsburg - he has now recorded 5,601 yards in his career to surpass the previous mark of 5,380 compiled by former teammate Aeryton Erwin from 2011-2014.

Kaleb now owns the school single-season scoring record with 178 total points, eclipsing the previous mark of 174 established by Irwin in 2013 and equaled by Philip Cook last season.
