Thousands of people in need pick up fresh produce thanks to the Foodbank
GREENE COUNTY, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – Thousands of people who may not know where their next meal is coming from were able to fill their stomachs Friday night with a little help from the Foodbank.
The crowds went to the Nutter Center for the giveaway to pick up fresh produce and other items.
More than 23,000 people in Greene County alone do not know where they will get their food for a day.
“We are seeing more and more children who are hungry on a daily basis,” Cathy Ponitz with the CareSource Foundation said.
CareSource partnered with the Foodbank for the third year to help put on the event.
The next Foodbank giveaway is scheduled for September 15.
