Rival high schools team up to help local blood banks
KETTERING, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – Two traditional rival high schools teamed up Friday to help blood banks in a time that is traditionally challenging.
The schools sponsored the Kettering “Unity Blood Drive” to kick off the “Unity in the Community” campaign that runs through September 2,
Blood banks normally see a slump over the summer, due to summer breaks and family vacations disrupting donation schedules.
Everyone who donated Friday got free tickets to Kings Island.
Officials told FOX 45 more than 160 people registered, and more than 100 units were donated.
