Surveillance video shows armed robbery inside AT&T store
UPDATE: Surveillance video shows suspects walking into the AT&T store in Huber Heights with weapons drawn.
UPDATE - Seven suspects are in custody after what police are calling a body armed robbery in Huber Heights.
Lt. Matt Dulaney with the Huber Heights Police Department says the suspects were armed with long guns when they robbed an AT&T store in the 8200 block of Old Troy Pike.
Police were able to get a description of the vehicle and found it on Longford Road. Lt. Dulaney said when police found the vehicle, which he said was stolen, the driver fled, then crashed and everyone inside bailed out.
The area where the scene was happening was near Studebaker Preschool, which also houses the headquarters for Huber Heights City Schools, and as a precaution all Huber Heights schools were placed on lockdown, Dulaney said. After the suspects jumped out of the vehicle, Lt. Dulaney said officers put out a '99' call which means an officer needs help. "It's a great way to get people here," Lt. Dulaney said, "to be honest with you, when you're seven against one it's an issue."
By coincidence, SWAT was nearby training and was able to respond quickly to the scene. In addition to SWAT, Lt. Dulaney said multiple agencies were on hand to help search for the suspects. Police have made seven arrests and believe all of the suspects they're looking for are in custody.
