HOUSTON, Texas (WKEF/WRGT) - Ohio Task Force 1 members who responded to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey will head to Katy, Texas to assist with rescue efforts in the Houston area.

The team was first deployed to San Antonio August 26, the day after the hurricane made landfall. They then began the morning of August 27 in Tivoli and Awstwell, Texas to assess damage, and used a National Guard High Clearance Vehicle Transportation Company to get out to the Tivolvi Fire Department's fire station, which had collapsed. Crews were able to help safely remove the town's fire engine to get it back into service.

They also helped with the rescue efforts for an elderly man, who was later found safe. We'll continue to stay in touch with the team and will bring you the latest on their work on air and online.
