Miamisburg Spring Fling Festival draws to a close for a final year
MIAMISBURG, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Miamisburg had its final Spring Fling over the weekend after 38 years of family fun in Historic Library Park.
The annual event started back in 1980 as an idea for a "picknic in the park."
The Spring Fling Festival Committee said in a media release that the park where the festival is held every year was recently deemed a "Passive Park" and that they were no longer permitted to hold the festival.
The committee said that the city offered to move the festival to Riverfront Park, but that they declinded on account of how difficult it would be to plan and rework the festival details.
Festivities remained exactly the same, despite it being the final year.
Families got to enjoy more than 100 booths, arts and crafts, rides, kids' activities, and tons of other kinds of entertainment.
