Kettering Police honor officers who came before them
KETTERING, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – Law enforcement agencies around the country have gatherings planned to remember their fallen throughout the week of May 17 for National Police Week, including one honoring our very own Kettering first responders.
Police Chief Chip Protsman focused on remembering the officers who had come before them at the ceremony outside the Kettering Police Department. He said he was pleased to see so many people at the event, because it means he’s part of a community that cares.
“The great thing about Kettering is that the citizens support the police department so much,” he said. “And the retirees who come back are very supportive of those of us who are working now. So yeah, we always have a really good turnout.”
The service included a benediction, an address by Chief Prostman and a Color and Honor Guard.
