Kettering elementary school raises hundreds to help hurricane victims
KETTERING, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – Some of the youngest people in the Miami Valley stepped up to help raise money for the victims of Hurricane Harvey and Irma.
Students, teachers and staff from Kettering’s Prass Elementary School started collection donations with the goal of being able to give $100.
On Wednesday, due to their combined efforts, they were able to hand a check for $900 to the American Red Cross,
One student told FOX 45 it’s important to help out the people who are struggling to recover after the storms.
“Because some people in Texas, or anywhere, need money to get out of their houses,” Addison Protsman said, “and food and water because they can’t get out.”
The Red Cross is helping families by providing meals and clothing, as well as with temporary and permanent housing until people can get back on their feet.
