“I think we’re finally making progress,” Sheriff Plummer talks opioid crisis at town hall
VANDALIA, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – In the ongoing fight against the heroin epidemic, officials continue to try to find new ways to reach out to the community and talk through the issues.
One thing Montgomery County Sheriff Phil Plummer said is helping is town hall meetings, like the one in Vandalia Monday evening.
“I think we’re finally making progress,” he said. “I think we’ve finally turned a corner, but we’re not taking our foot off the gas by any means.”
Sheriff Plummer lead his office’s 15th town hall at St. Christopher’s Church, and asked the community to be the department’s eyes and ears. If you see drug activity in your neighborhood, report it.
He also urged anyone who is interested to join the Drug-Free Coalition. For more information, check out this link.
