Gas prices expected to jump in Ohio due to refinery outage
Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Gas prices are expected to jump in Ohio within the next few days due to a refinery outage reported in Illinois on Wednesday.
The Illinois Emergency Management Agency reported a "flaring event" at the refinery, which caused wholesale gasoline prices to jump nearly 10 cents per gallon.
According to GasBuddy, due to "price cycling" behavior, prices may rise much more than that. People throughout the area may see the prices spike Thursday or Friday to between $2.65 and $2.79 per gallon as a result.
