Fire crews order second alarm while responding to high-rise complex in Dayton
DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Fire crews had to order a second alarm while responding to a fire at a high-rise apartment complex on Wilmington Avenue Thursday night.
They got the call about an apartment fire, and found that it had sparked on the fourth floor. Crews were able to make a rapid knockdown and keep the fire contained to the one apartment, but it did smoke up the entire floor. Starting on the 10th floor and making their way down, multiple departments helped to look for smoke problems in the building and check on residents.
No one was injured in what crews are saying was basically a kitchen fire, but the resident in the apartment where the fire sparked did suffer some minor issues with smoke inhalation. Residents were being allowed back into their apartments.
